Expert Learning for Law Students FAQ

Will participating in the summer program impact scholarship opportunities at McGeorge School of Law if I have been admitted?

No. Merit-based scholarship decisions are made at the time an offer of admission is made. If you are eligible for a merit-based scholarship you will be notified in your offer letter. The summer program is designed to provide you with information on and exposure to the skills that data and studies show promote success in law school. Participation in the summer program will have no impact on scholarship eligibility or decisions.

Am I eligible to participate in the summer program if I am currently on the waitlist?

Yes. The summer program is open to both admitted applicants and applicants who have been waitlisted.

If I am on the waitlist for admission to the law school and participate in the summer program will I be admitted to the law school?

Not necessarily. Participation in the summer program will have no impact on the waitlist admission process. The summer program is designed to provide you with information on and exposure to the skills that data and studies show promote success in law school. It is not designed to be a gateway for admission to the law school from the waitlist.

If I cannot participate in the session for which I’ve registered, can I roll my registration to another session?

No. Registrations are specific to the session that you choose. If your plans to participate change, please notify our office as soon as possible. However, please note that in fairness to other registrants, you will not be able to participate in an alternative session.

Are there registration fee waivers available for individuals with financial hardships?

Yes. You will need to check the financial hardship box on the registration form and upload one of the required documents to confirm your financial hardship. Your registration will be on hold, prior to review and approval. If you are approved for a fee waiver you will be registered “officially.”

If registration is at capacity, will I be placed on a waitlist?

Yes. A waitlist will be maintained during the registration process. If the session for which you register is full, you will be placed on a waitlist in the order in which your registration was received. Payment will not be due until you are added to the session from the waitlist. Registrants are asked to notify us, as soon as possible, if their plans to participate change so that we can add individuals from the waitlist.

Are refunds available for registration fees?

No. Unfortunately, registration fees are non-refundable. If your plans to participate change, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can give your spot to an individual on the waitlist. However, registration fee refunds are not be available.
