Chief Legislation Editor, University of the Pacific Law Review

Hometown: Elk Grove, CA
Undergraduate: Taylor University
Major: BA in Marketing, with minor in Church Music

Tyler Wood attended Taylor University, a small private school in Indiana, about one hour north of Indianapolis as an undergraduate. Despite having torn his ACL during his senior year of high school, Tyler managed to play one year of college football before tearing that same ACL for a second time. Tyler was also in a band during college. His band, Face the Flood, has a full length album on iTunes and Spotify. He recalls, "It's not Grammy worthy, but we put a lot of time and effort into it and had a lot of fun making it!"

After college, Tyler married his now-wife, Ashley, and the couple remained in Indianapolis. Then, looking for an intellectual challenge, he decided to go to law school.

Studying for the LSAT cemented the idea of going to law school for Tyler. He states, "My Dad is a lawyer, but never pressured me to be one. It had always been in the back of my mind. When I got bored working in Indianapolis, it seemed like as good of a time as any to see if the law was the route to go. So far, I have loved it."

As an Elk Grove native, McGeorge was the perfect decision for him both financially and geographically. He admits, "I love Sacramento. My wife and I were both ready to move here. She is from Michigan so she was tired of those Midwest winters, and I was ready to come back home. Our plan had been to move here eventually, and we are here to stay."

Tyler is the Chief Legislation Editor of Law Review and started McGeorge's first law review podcast, "UPLR: In Session." The podcast launched in September and is now available on iTunes.

Tyler enjoys the study of law, explaining, "I've loved the way studying and learning the law requires me to use my brain. The type of logic, reasoning, and analytical skills necessary in this profession line up perfectly with how my brain is wired. That sense of feeling like you are doing what you were made to do is rewarding and reassuring."

Tyler enjoys playing music, working out, hiking, and trying new restaurants with his wife Ashley. They live in Oak Park with their Puggle, Roman.
