Davis Adams comes from a long line of lawyers — his father, grandfather and great grandfather all worked in the profession. But Adams set out to break the mold with an interest in acting. He started in high school theatre productions and realized he liked the spotlight. "I've always been fairly good at talking to large crowds so my penchant for public speaking was part of the reason I decided to pursue law school."

Adams attended the University of Nevada at Reno where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in communications. After graduation, he reached out to his father's former law school classmates and coworkers to help determine if he should pursue a law career.

Adams landed an accounting position at a boutique bankruptcy law firm in Sacramento. His supervisors knew that he was considering a law career and gave him some legal responsibilities. It was the lawyers he worked with that inspired him to pursue a law career.

Adams was attracted to McGeorge because of its proximity to state government, its network of alumni and its outstanding reputation. Three years later, he has joined his father as a proud McGeorge alumnus.

"The best advice I'd give to people who are struggling to decide whether or not they want to pursue a career in law is to make sure it's truly what they want to do,” he reflected, adding  law school is academically rigorous but rewarding. “I couldn't ask for anything more."
