Legislative Analyst, California Department of Consumer Affairs

Colin Hendricks is a legislative analyst at the California Department of Consumer Affairs, where he serves as a technical expert in legislative and policy matters relating to the department’s boards, bureaus, and other licensing programs. He previously practiced for five years at the law firm of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, where he acted as general and special litigation counsel for local governmental entities.

During his tenure at McGeorge, Colin interned with California State Senator Lois Wolk and served as Student Body President and president of the Governmental Affairs Student Organization. He was awarded McGeorge’s Most Outstanding Student Service Award as well as a Capital Commendation for Public Service.

While practicing in Orange County, he was active in the legal community, including the Orange County McGeorge Alumni Chapter and the Orange County Bar Association. He served four years in leadership for the OCBA’s Young Lawyers Division, including one year as its elected Chair. He is currently a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association and the Schwartz-Levi Inn of Court.

Colin received his BA in History at the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2008 and his JD from McGeorge in 2012.
