In 2013, the McGeorge International Board of Advisors created the Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker Global Center Endowment Fund. Honoring Dean Emerita Parker’s longstanding public service as an international lawyer and her contributions to the development and promotion of international programs at McGeorge, the endowment provides grants for law students and recent graduates to support their participation in eligible international internships.
Each year, the Global Center will offer up to four awards, each for $1,000, to support JD students and recent graduates (who matriculated no more than 12 months before the internship’s start date) in eligible internships. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis, and may be used to help fund internships during the fall, spring, or summer.
In order to be eligible for consideration for a grant, an applicant must demonstrate: (1) that the internship will focus on international, comparative, or transnational law or policy; and (2) that the internship will help advance the applicant’s professional goals.
Preference will be given to applicants likely to face significant expenses in pursuing the internship. Applicants must disclose if they are receiving funding from other sources.
