University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law's Public Legal Services Society (PLSS) volunteered with Meals on Wheels in Sacramento on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 for a Valentine’s Day Card Making Workshop.

Meals on Wheels helps keep seniors in their homes and communities by providing nutritious meals, safety net services, social contact, community resource information and much more. This event was created with the goal of making 1,400 Valentine’s Day cards to distribute to seniors using their service in the local community.

PLSS members Ashley Shepherd, Valerie Nuding, Ashley Leib, Irene Meyers, Whitney Floratos, Elaine Stone, Taylore Kadin, Leslie Anne Salvador and Emily Morgan helped to setup this event as well as create cards.

PLSS is an organization that focuses on the importance of public service and public interest and at the heart of the organization is community service. Members complete community service hours independently and jointly with PLSS. These community service opportunities gives members a chance to reach out into the community in which we go to school and make a positive impact to members of the community.

PLSS will continue to have community service opportunities available for members and non-members.
