McGeorge is among the top three schools with the greatest increase in pass rate and is 11th in the state among ABA-accredited California law schools for the July 2019 bar pass rate.
The California State Bar reported that 64.2% of the McGeorge alumni who took the exam for the first time passed, compared to 50% last year.
“Our bar pass rate is affirmation of the important work that faculty and staff at McGeorge have done to support students so they are well prepared for the California Bar exam, one of the most difficult in the nation,” said Michael Colatrella , McGeorge’s interim dean. “The results speak to the quality of instruction, the rigor of our academic programs, and the impact of the support we offer alumni while they are studying for the exam.”
The overall state bar pass rate rebounded in 2019 to 2017 levels, which mirrored a national upward trend for scores. In all, 79 first-time exam takers and 21 repeat exam takers from McGeorge were part of the 3,886 people who passed the bar.
