University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law's Public Legal Services Society (PLSS) started off the year by volunteering with the NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Sacramento at their 29th annual Paint the Town event on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018.

NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Sacramento has helped in the painting and providing minor home improvement projects in the North and South Sacramento area. This year, the neighborhood of focus was the Del Paso Highs Neighborhood.

PLSS members Angela Stevens, Henry Ng, Ashley Leib, Irene Meyers, Whitney Floratos, Joel Melgar, Garrett Porter, Leslie Anne Salvador and Ejiro Okoro helped paint two sides of the resident's house, including trimming. Members supported each other by taking turns with various painting and lifting duties.

PLSS is an organization that focuses on the importance of public service and public interest and at the heart of the organization is community service. Members complete community service hours independently and jointly with PLSS. These community service opportunities gives members a chance to reach out into the community in which we go to school and make a positive impact to members of the community.

PLSS will continue to have community service opportunities available for members and non-members. Keep up with PLSS on the organization's blog
