Grodsky accepts the award from David Jaffe

David Jaffe, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, American University, Washington College of Law with Rebekah Grodsky, Director of Academic & Student Affairs at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Rebekah Grodsky, Director of Academic & Student Affairs at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, was nominated for, and won, the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs (CoLAP) Meritorious Service Award for Law Student Wellness.

The award honors those who have committed to supporting law student mental and physical wellness through prevention, education, intervention, and treatment of substance use disorders, addition, and mental illness within the law student population.

Criteria included how the candidate supported wellness programming for students and within the legal community generally, and how easily the candidate’s methods of providing support could be reproduced, so as to support students outside of the candidate’s school. Rebekah’s nomination focused on her creation of wellness programming at McGeorge, including serving as a catalyst for Wellness Week and the Wellness Committee; tirelessly advocating for wellness issues being integrated into to Orientation; her continued service in leading guided meditation groups, and her service as NALSAP president, where she empowers other student affairs professionals to address law student wellness.
