Asha Zahrt, a current 3L student well on her way to completing the Business Law concentration at McGeorge, spent her summer in Silicon Valley for the second year in a row with Seagate Technology, Plc. She served as an intern in Seagate's legal department.
Working closely with in-house counsel, Ms. Zahrt worked on issues of corporate governance,
intellectual property, as well as pre-litigation, and transactional issues. She met
with attorneys and executives in various departments and has found the internship
experience invaluable to her future career plans in corporate law.
Ms. Zahrt is currently the president of the McGeorge Intellectual Property Student Association (IPSA). She serves in other student organizations as senior advisor of the Federal Bar Association, president of the Jewish Law Students Association and treasurer of the Wine Law Society. A wife and mother of three, Ms. Zahrt is from Morgan Hill, California just south of San Jose. In her two years at McGeorge she has successfully split her time between Sacramento and her home in Morgan Hill where her husband and children live year round. She intends to return home after graduation this coming May.
