Commencement is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21 and will not exceed 2 1/2 hours. Please arrive at the Memorial Auditorium no later than 1:15 p.m. to assemble for the academic processional. See map here. There is no secure storage space, so please leave purses, etc. in the trunk of your car. The doors open for guests at 12:30 p.m. Seating is open and unreserved.
The commencement speaker is Kevin Nagle, named the Sacramento Business Journal’s Executive of the Year.
Graduate speakers to represent the class of 2016's Full-time (Day), Part-Time (Evening) and LLM Divisions were chosen through a formal selection process. Speakers are as follows: Ryan Matthews (Full-Time), Maricar Pascual (Part-Time), Henry Okoro (LLM).
Class Rings and Announcements are provided by Balfour, McGeorge' s preferred vendor. Order information can be obtained in the Bookstore.
Caps and gowns are provided to you by McGeorge at no cost. Please visit the Bookstore beginning Monday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays to check out a cap and gown. The gowns will be laundered, but you are encouraged to have them pressed prior to Commencement.
A Commencement informational session will be hosted in the Lecture Hall on Wednesday, May 18 at 5 p.m. and will be repeated on Thursday, May 19 at 10 a.m. These sessions should last approximately 30 minutes. Please try to attend the rehearsal that is most convenient for you.
Diplomas will not be in the case you receive as you cross the stage during the ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed directly to your mailing address on file with the Office of the Registrar.
Immediately following commencement, an open-house reception will be held on the campus in your honor. You and your guests are cordially invited to attend the wine and hors d'oeuvres reception. The campus will be open for touring.
