McGeorge School of Law's Capital Center for Law & Policy made a big splash at the
2016 Post-Mortem of the Election conference on Nov. 10, 2016 organized by Capitol Weekly. Over 20 faculty, alumni,
and students participated in the high-profile review of the election outcome with
some of California's most interesting and influential political leaders and commentators.
McGeorge Professor Mary-Beth Moylan was a critical voice on the panel about the ballot propositions and fielded many questions about how these measures would affect California's future. Under her leadership, McGeorge law students produced a non-partisan edition of the California Initiative Review for the November 8 General Election. Director of Capital Initiatives Steve Hansen, '11, gave the closing remarks at the event to highlight McGeorge's renewed engagement with the Capitol community and touted the law school's four law & policy degree programs.
Immediately following the Post-Mortem conference was a Welcome Reception for new legislators, where Capital Center Board Member, Mike Belote, '87 introduced the bevy of new legislators who were in town for training.
