Day Division valedictorian Andrew Redner and Evening Division co-valedictorians Louinda Lacey and Adam Cate headline a group of 31 new members of the McGeorge chapter of the Order of the Coif.
The academic stars of the Class of 2011 were inducted into the honors organization at an on-campus banquet on May 13, 2011. Professor Michael Vitiello, the chapter’s new president, emceed the event which featured Professor Larry Levine as its keynote speaker.
Levine congratulated the Coif inductees on their success in law school, but also managed to tweak the happy attendees with his familiar brand of humor. “I wanted to say that you are the future leaders, you are the best and the brightest … but then I remembered I know some of you.” On a more serious note, the popular professor who is celebrating his 25th year in legal education, urged the attendees to stay connected to their law school.
It was the 29th annual Order of the Coif Congratulatory Luncheon for McGeorge, which holds the 59th chapter in the 82-law school honorary society. Other schools that boast chapters in the organization include Yale, Emory, Stanford and the University of Chicago. New graduates must have finished in the top 10 percent of their classes to qualify for election to membership.
