Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed 23 judges to the Superior Court of California on March 26, 2009, including five McGeorge graduates.
Thadd A. Blizzard, ’78, was appointed to a judgeship with the Sacramento County Superior Court. He is a shareholder with Weintraub Genshlea Chediak, a Sacramento firm with which he has practiced since 1987. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Gail Ohanesian, ’72.
Lorna H. Brumfield, ’83, and Bryan K. Stainfield, ’86, will join the Kern County Superior Court bench. Brumfield has served as a partner and previously an associate in the Law Offices of LeBeau-Thelen since 1998. Stainfield has served as a deputy district attorney for the Kern County District Attorney’s Office since 2000.
Christian R. Gullón, ’92, was appointed to the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He has served as a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office since 1995.
David Moranda, ’80, was named to the Merced County Superior Court. He has served as chief deputy district attorney and previously deputy district attorney for the Merced County District Attorney’s Office since 1993.
