The inaugural class of McGeorge’s Summer Program on European Legal Studies in London wraps up its three-week run on June 23, but it hasn’t been all classroom work.
The class got together after attending a performance of Shakespeare’s “Merchant of Venice” at the Globe Theatre on June 11 in London. The famous play, focusing as it does on creditor’s rights and the principles of interpretation applicable to surety bonds, was a natural for these law students who are studying European commercial law in a transnational context. Professor Michael Malloy, middle front row, and Professor Thom Main, back row, are naturally center stage.
