Golf Tourney Debut A Success

October 25, 2006

Seventy-five golfers participated in the inaugural McGeorge Benefit Golf Tournament sponsored by the McGeorge Asian Pacific Alumni Association on October 16 at the Empire Ranch Golf Club in Folsom.

Students, alums and many members of the Sacramento area judiciary enjoyed an 18-hole best ball scramble event that, combined with a raffle and silent auction, raised $3,000 in scholarship funds. Among the judges in attendance were Justices Fred Morrison and Tani Cantil-Sakauye of the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District and administrative law judges Kalei Fong, ’79, Robert Tronvig, ’75, and Plauche Villere, ’91. Attorney Sean Wong, ’93, played a key role in organizing the event and Assistant Dean Ruthe Ashley, ’88, helped coordinate student and staff support.
