Summer Program in London, UK
June 14-July 5, 2008

The Summer Program on European Legal Studies is a three-week program offered during the last two weeks of June and the first week of July in London by the School of Law of Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) and Pacific McGeorge. The program is open to all students and graduates of Pacific McGeorge, QMUL, ABA-approved or state-accredited law schools and fully-accredited foreign law schools, and students are invited to participate either in this program by itself or in conjunction with participation in the Salzburg Summer Program on International Legal Studies.
London, one of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, is a leading global center for commerce and banking. It is a city rich in art, culture and history, and its legal institutions, from which the common law developed, provided the basis and inspiration for the legal and political system in the United States.
The program offers international and comparative law courses focused upon European commercial law in a transnational context. Courses are taught by European and American faculty. The program courses are offered at the Mile End campus of QMUL located in the historical East London home of Queen Mary College, which began life in 1885.
Tuition: Tuition for the Summer Program, including course materials, student housing, daily breakfast and weekend excursion tours, is $4,200 for two courses, $3,500 for one course and $1,400 for an Accompanying Person. Tuition does not include airfare or transportation from the Airport. Persons enrolling in both the London and Salzburg summer programs will receive a 20% discount off the total tuition for both programs.
A deposit of $250 is required at the time of making an application to attend the London program. This amount is credited against the total amount of tuition that is due. The remainder of the tuition is due no later than three weeks before the start of the program, or May 23, 2008. The tuition deposit is fully refundable so long as notice of cancellation is received no later than May 14, 2008. In the event that a cancellation is made after May 14, 2008, the tuition deposit is not refundable.
Materials for all courses are included in the tuition fee and they, as well as reading assignments, will be distributed either before the start of the program or upon arrival in London.
Course Schedule: Courses will meet Monday through Friday, June 16 through July 3. Examinations will be administered on Friday, July 4. The course schedule is as follows:
