Tax Law Faculty

Philip H. Wile, Director of Tax Programs; Professor of Law
Before coming to Pacific McGeorge, Professor Wile practiced tax and business law and estate planning for 30 years. A Pacific McGeorge faculty member since 1987, Professor Wile authored Federal Income Tax—A Casebook on the Basics, published by West Group in 1995. He now teaches Contracts, Estate and Gift Tax, Taxation of Partnerships and S Corporations, and Wills and Trusts.

Christine Manolakas, Professor of Law
A faculty member at Pacific McGeorge for over 20 years, Professor Manolakas holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. She now teaches Federal Income Taxation, Taxation of Real Estate Transactions, Corporate Taxation, Taxation (U.S.) of International Transactions, and Community Property. She has recently co-authored a series of articles with Professor Catherine Brown of the law faculty of University of Calgery on various tax aspects of NAFTA and other international tax matters.

Steven Mopsick, Adjunct Professor Professor of Law
Professor Mopsick is actively employed as District Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service in Sacramento. He teaches Tax Practice and Procedure and assists with the Internal Revenue Service Clinic.

Kent W. Meyer, Adjunct Professor Professor of Law
An active private practice attorney, Professor Meyer is also a full professor in the Department of Accounting at California State University, Sacramento. He holds a Ph.D. in accounting as well as J.D. and LL.M. degrees. At Pacific McGeorge, he teaches Estate Planning and Accounting for Lawyers.

James M. Crawford, Jr., Adjunct Professor of Law
Professor Crawford is in private practice in Sacramento, specializing in employee compensation and benefits. He teaches Deferred Compensation.

Jefferson D. Vest, Adjunct Professor of Law
Professor Vest is Assistant Chief Counsel for the Appeals Section of the California Board of Equalization. He teaches State and Local Taxation.
