Following graduation from UCLA's law school, Professor Jed Scully began his legal career as a dean and administrator of UCLA's international programs.  He served as counsel for five years with an entertainment law firm. In 1968, he was appointed jointly to the faculty of the UCLA School of Law and as legal counsel to UCLA’s chancellor. In 1970, Professor Scully was appointed a vice president of Loyola Marymount University, where he taught copyright, intellectual property and advocacy.  In 1973, he became the director of the Loyola Law Clinics.  In 1975, Mayor Tom Bradley appointed Professor Scully as the chair of Project Heavy, the youth services agency for the City of Los Angeles.  Professor Scully joined the faculty at Pacific McGeorge in 1979 and continued teaching, writing and practicing copyright and entertainment law, intellectual property, trial and appellate practice and clinical teaching.  He has served as director of the Intellectual Property Concentration since 2002.  His scholarly and writing interests include copyright and global intellectual property, advocacy and dispute resolution.  Professor Scully helped found the Anthony M. Kennedy American Inn of Court and continues to serve as a Master of the bench and member of the executive committee.  Scully's professional and community service includes service as chair of the University of the Pacific's Academic Council, service on numerous bar and practice committees, as a MCLE lecturer in intellectual property and as a judge pro tem for the Sacramento Superior Courts for 20 years.

1963 to 1970: Dean of Foreign Students, UCLA, responsible for 4000 international faculty, exchange scholars and students. Executive Director, International Student Center. 1966-1970: Campus Advocate at UCLA serving as legal advisor to the Chancellor. 1968-1970: Lecturer in Law, UCLA School of Law.

1961 to 1963: Assistant Dean of Students University of California, Berkeley and at UCLA.

Founder and President of GREYLAW (1975-78); legal services to the elderly in Los Angeles. Chair of Board of Project HEAVY, youth gangs and diversion program for City of Los Angeles 1976-78; chair and board member of numerous Los Angeles, Sacramento and State Bar committees and projects including the Los Angeles Legal Aid Foundation, the Willowbrook Community Health Center and the Compton Indian Center.
