One of only three women in a Day Division of 83 law students, Professor Scully was the 1972 Class valedictorian. After running a solo general practice in suburban Sacramento for four years, she accepted appointment to the Pacific McGeorge faculty as Director of Clinical Legal Education. In that role, she supervised the school’s on-campus clinic, Community Legal Services, as well as numerous off-campus clinical placements in public agencies and public interest law firms. Professor Scully was among the first California attorneys qualified and designated as a Certified Family Law Specialist. She has also served as a judge pro tem of the Sacramento Superior Court since 1984, serving on the bench in family law trial and general civil litigation matters. Professor Scully co-chaired a State Bar of California committee that drafted the rules that govern the practical training and certification of law students. Her community service includes six years as chair and member of the Sacramento County Project Planning Commission and numerous appearances as a panelist in State Bar continuing education programs.
