Professor Lathrope comes to Pacific McGeorge from Hastings College of the Law. He practiced law in Phoenix, Arizona, after receiving his LL.M. in taxation at New York University. Since 1980, he has been a member of the faculty at Hastings, where he also served as Academic Dean. Professor Lathrope has taught in the graduate tax programs at New York University and was Director of the Graduate Program at the University of Florida. He spent a semester teaching at Leiden University in The Netherlands and he taught in the 2004 Pacific McGeorge Summer Institute in China. He is author of The Alternative Minimum Tax: Compliance and Planning With Analysis; coauthor, with Lind, Schwarz and Rosenberg, of Fundamentals of Corporate Taxation, Fundamentals of Partnership Taxation, and Fundamentals of Business Enterprise Taxation; and co-author with Freeland, Lind and Stephens of Fundamentals of Federal Income Taxation.
