Professor Brungess has been an instructor at Pacific McGeorge since 2002. She is a 1996 graduate of Pacific McGeorge, and was a solo practitioner specializing in family law from 1997 to 2003. Professor Brungess’ Sacramento practice included divorce, paternity, custody, support, stepparent adoption, and restraining order cases. She also acted as minor’s counsel when appointed by the court. Professor Brungess served as a part-time staff attorney for Voluntary Legal Services of Northern California (VLSP) from 1999 to 2000, and assisted in opening and operating the Pro Per clinic at the Self Help Center of the William Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse. During her time with VLSP, she also conducted seminars that offered training on family law forms completion and procedures. Professor Brungess has served as a Sacramento County pro tem settlement conference judge at the Family Relations Courthouse, and acts as a pro tem small claims court judge at the Carol Miller Justice Center.
