Professor Jose Felipe Anderson discusses "Father of the Civil Rights Movement" Charles Hamilton Houston
February 12, 2008Celebrating the contributions of Charles Hamilton Houston, “the father of the civil rights movement,” Pacific McGeorge will host a panel discussion featuring Houston family-authorized biographer Professor Jose Felipe Anderson, author of the forthcoming, Genius for Justice: Charles Hamilton Houston and the Reform of American Law. Pacific McGeorge Professor Brian Landsberg will interview Professor Anderson and cover Houston’s extraordinary achievements as the “father of the civil rights movement.” Professor Anderson is Director of the University of Baltimore’s Stephen L. Snyder Center for Litigation Skills, and has researched and taught Houston’s litigation techniques since the 1980’s. Prior to teaching, Professor Anderson was a criminal and civil litigator with an extensive background in capital punishment cases. He has presented cases at all levels of state and federal court including the United States Supreme Court. Anderson is also a faculty member of the National Judicial College and an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School Department of Legal Studies and Business Ethics.
