Professor Alfred Brophy, who has written extensively on race and property law in colonial, antebellum and 20th century America, will speak at 12 noon, Thursday, January 31 at Pacific McGeorge. The University of Alabama law professor is the author of Reconstructing the Dreamland: The Tulsa Riot of 1921-- Race, Reparations, Reconciliation and ReparationsPro and Con. Prior to beginning his academic career, he clerked for Judge Butzner of the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Brophy also practiced with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, and Flom in New York. He currently serves as faculty advisor to the Alabama Law Review. Brophy obtained his A.B. from University of Pennsylvania. He earned his A.M. and Ph.D. at Harvard University, followed by a J.D. at Columbia University.
