Emily Randon has been named director of the Academic Success Program at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

A UC Irvine and Pacific McGeorge graduate, Randon will receive her masters degree in Higher Education Leadership from California State University, Sacramento in December. She will continue her duties as director of Educational Outreach at the law school, but relinquish her role as assistant director of Admissions. She practiced law in Sacramento for five years before joining the law school staff.

In her new capacity, Randon will counsel students, teach classes, and conduct programs to help students achieve success in their law school classes. The Academic Success Program, formerly known as the Academic Support program, is in its sixth year of operation at Pacific McGeorge. It includes skills-hours workshops, practice examinations, a Principles of Agency course, individual counseling, and bar preparation and mentoring.

Randon replaces Joginder Dhillon, who was recently named the general counsel of the California Office of Homeland Security. Assistant Dean Tim Naccarato will continue to oversee the Academic Success Program.
