Prerequisite Law School Courses
There are no prerequisite courses for the LL.M. program; however, candidates are encouraged to be familiar with business associations (company law), commercial law, and basic principles of income taxation.

Application Procedures
There are three different ways you can apply to the program:

1.Complete your application form online and submit it over the Internet and then mail in supporting documents. There is no application fee.
2.Download your application form online, complete it, and then mail it in with supporting documents. There is no application fee.
3.Obtain a printed brochure, complete the application form in it, and then mail it in with supporting documents. You can request a brochure with an application form in it by E-mailing us at mcgintprg@uop.edu. There is no application fee.

Supporting Documents

After you have submitted your application online, or at the time you mail your application form, please also:

1.Enclose:
  a. Your signature form, if you submitted your application online
  b. Curriculum vitae (résumé)
  c. Evidence of law degree or its anticipated receipt before start of program. To submit in languages other than English, a certified translation must be provided.
  d. Personal statement, in English, of your special interest in the Collaborative LL.M. in Transnational Business Practice.
  e. Four passport photos
  f. A sample of legal writing. To submit in languages other than English, a certified translation must be provided.
2.Arrange to have forwarded directly to the Admissions Office:
  a. Official transcripts from all colleges, universities, and graduate or professional schools attended. To submit in languages other than English, a certified translation must be provided.
  b. Two reference letters
  c. For nonnative speakers of English, evidence of proficiency in the English language sufficient to cope with a rigorous academic program. In general, this may include receipt of an undergraduate or graduate degree from an English language institution; multi-year employment in a position in which English is the primary language or communication; or a minimum test score of 557 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The burden of demonstrating proficiency in English by other methods is upon the applicant.

Applicants may send supporting material to either of the following offices. If the application was submitted online, the supporting documents should be sent to the same campus to which the application was directed.

Admission Decisions

A variety of factors influence admission decisions: law school work, including course and extracurricular activities in transnational as well as business and taxation areas and nature and duration of legal experience.

Applications for admission for enrollment in the fall semester on the University of Salzburg campus should be submitted by May 15 in order to receive timely consideration by the Admissions Committee. Applications completed after May 15 will be considered on a space-available basis.

Applications for enrollment to begin with the spring semester on the McGeorge campus in Sacramento should be submitted by November 15 in order to receive timely consideration by the Admissions Committee. Applications received after November 15 will be considered on a space-available basis.
