Registration & Class Schedules
During the summer months, we will send detailed information about registration, orientation, and the beginning of classes. Please remember to inform the Admissions Office of your summer address.
Day Division students are assigned to sections for first-year classes. Section assignments are noted on the student's registration card. The Evening Division students may request classes during daytime hours to accommodate special needs such as child care responsibilities or employment conflicts.
Day Division classes are scheduled during morning and afternoon hours; schedules vary little among sections and there will be one or more classes each day.
First year Evening classes meet three evenings each week, beginning at 6:00 or 6:15 p.m., during the Fall semester. A fourth night of classes is usually required during the Spring semester with the addition of a Criminal Law course.

Tuition and Living Costs
You will be advised of tuition for the coming academic school year when determined by the Board of Regents at its spring meeting. Tuition for the entering Day Division class for the 2007-2008 academic year was $34,474; for the Evening Division class, $22,919.
Tuition for the Fall semester is payable at registration. It may be deferred until receipt of student loan proceeds for which you have applied. Arrangements may be made with the Business Office for payment on an installment plan.
Living expenses are the other major component of educational costs. The McGeorge Student Budget for living expenses is a generous one which permits students to qualify for the maximum federal loan amounts as well as additional private student loan sources. The cost of living in Sacramento is considerably less than in the larger, coastal metropolitan areas, and the Student Budget provides for a comfortable standard of living.

Undergraduate Transcripts
Although applicants have previously furnished transcripts of educational work to LSDAS, the School of Law needs official transcripts forwarded from your undergraduate and graduate degree-granting institutions. You should arrange to have an official transcript with your bachelor's degree posted sent from your undergraduate degree-granting institution to the Admissions Office of the School of Law. Official transcripts of graduate work (including any prior law school study) should also be furnished.
