Uelmen To Deliver Lou Ashe Lecture
January 31, 2007Professor Gerald Uelmen, one of California’s most prominent legal scholars and the director of the Heafey Center for Trial and Appellate Advocacy at Santa Clara School of Law, will deliver the annual Lou Ashe Symposium Lecture at 5 p.m., Wednesday, January 31 in the Pacific McGeorge Courtroom. The lecture is free of charge and open to the public. Professor Uelmen has been a major figure on the national legal scene since 1970. He participated in the defense of Daniel Ellsberg in the Pentagon Papers trial. He served as dean at Santa Clara from 1986 to 1994 and was part of the defense “dream team” during People v. O.J. Simpson in 1994-95. He has served as president of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers. |
