Samuelson's Appearance Caps Off Series
April 19, 2006The 13 th Annual Pacific McGeorge Distinguished Speakers Series concludes on Wednesday, April 19 with the appearance of Professor Pamela Samuelson. A Chancellor’s Professor of Information Management and of Law at the University of California at Berkeley, Samuelson will speak on “Peer to Peer File Sharing in the Aftermath of the Supreme Court's MGM v. Grokster Decision” at a faculty colloquium. An intellectual property, cyberlaw and information policy expert, Samuelson has written and spoken extensively about the challenges that new information technologies pose for traditional legal regimes, especially for intellectual property law. For more than 20 years, she has served as a bridge between the information technology community and the legal and policy community with the goal of promoting better informed and appropriate laws and policies to regulate information technologies. She is the director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology and an advisor to the Samuelson High Technology Law & Public Policy Clinic at Boalt Hall.
