Ohlbaum Revives Ashe Series

Professor Eddie OhlbaumProfessor Eddie Ohlbaum of the Temple University Beasley School of Law delivered the Lou Ashe Lecture on March 9.

His talk, “What Every Lawyer Needs to Know about Authentic Advocacy,” revived the lecture series begun in 1972 by Ashe, a long-time partner of Melvin Belli, leading medical malpractice attorney, and member of Pacific McGeorge’s advisory board in the 1970s. Ohlbaum also served as a visiting distinguished advocate in residence for a week, working in the Trial Advocacy program.

Ohlbaum’s appearance was the first in the Lou Ashe series since 2003 when repressed memory expert Elizabeth Loftus made a campus appearance. Other well-known presenters in the series include Gloria Allred, Robert Shapiro, Marvin Mitchelson, Richard Haynes, Vincent Bugliosi, Pierce O’Donnell and Tony Serra.
