Forum Will Focus on International Financial Services

Leading banking law experts from around the world will gather at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law on Friday, November 5 for a public roundtable forum on “International Financial Services.”
The participants, drawn from government, industry and academia, will analyze and assess different supervisory approaches in international financial services. The diverse approaches to be discussed include:
- the European Union and its individual members,
- the GATS,
- the NAFTA,
- the Bank for International Settlements, and
- the U.S. and Asian/Pacific jurisdictions.
Discussion topics will include: establishment and market entry; risk management and supervision; capital adequacy; supervision of troubled institutions; antiterrorism and money laundering; and supervision of e-banking and virtual banks.
The program is sponsored by Pacific McGeorge’s Center for Global Business and Development and will host an International Financial Services is the topic of a roundtable symposium, Friday, November 5 in Sacramento.
There will be ample opportunity to join in the discussion with roundtable participants throughout this important daylong event. This program is open to the public and there is MCLE credit available to attorneys.
