Public Service Scholarships
Public Service Scholarships are available to local, state, and federal government employees in the Sacramento Valley who meet admission standards and wish to enhance their knowledge and skills to continue careers in the public sector. Recipients usually enroll in the part-time, Evening Division program, permitting continued employment to be combined with law studies.
Recipients of Public Service Scholarships are expected to enroll during their upper division studies in Pacific McGeorge's Governmental Affairs Program. The Program, created in 1995, permits upper-division students to receive a special Certificate in Governmental Affairs in addition to their Juris Doctor degree by taking advanced courses concentrating in the fields of legislation, administrative law, and local government law. We now have over 100 certificate graduates, many of whom have assumed positions in legislative offices, lobbying firms, state and local agencies, and law firms which represent government agencies.
Public Interest Scholarships typically range from 25% to 50% of tuition. Interested applicants should contact the Pacific McGeorge Admissions Office.
