Parking Information

All students, faculty and staff are required to display a university issued parking permit on their vehicle when parked in a campus parking lot. Visitors are required to display a university issued visitor's permit on the dashboard of their car in plain view. Visitor's permits can be obtained from the Business Office from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or Sacramento Campus Public Safety anytime day or night. The University of the Pacific assumes no responsibility for damage or theft of vehicles or its contents while parked on its property.

Motorcycles and bicycles are permitted to park in designated areas marked for motorcycles. Permits are not required for bicycles, however bicycles are not permitted to be chained to railings or posts, or brought into the classrooms. There is a designated bicycle cage for securing and parking bicycles. It is located in parking Lot H. A key for access to this area can be obtained from the Business Office free of charge. There are additional bicycle parking located near the Library, Halbert Hall, and the Lecture hall.

Parking in the University of the Pacific parking lots is by permit only. Parking regulations are enforced Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Violations of the parking regulations are subject to be cited or towed at the owner's expense. Violations that are subject to California Vehicle Code Section 22658 or Sacramento City Code 10.44.010. are towed to the nearest garage. To recover a towed vehicle, contact the Sacramento Police Department at 916.264.5471.

Violations of the parking regulation include:

  • Not displaying a currently issued parking permit for the current school year.
  • Not displaying the permit in the correct location on the vehicle
  • Parking in a spaces that have been reserved for the Dean, Faculty, Executive Staff, Adjunct Professors during restricted hours, and special guests or visitors
  • Parking in restricted areas or obstructing traffic
  • Leaving vehicles on University of the Pacific property for 72 hours or longer with expired registration and non-operational

Faculty and staff members who have failed to satisfy unpaid citations will be referred to their respective administrators. Students with unpaid citations will have their grades and transcripts withheld until such fines are paid. Questions or appeals regarding vehicle citations are to be directed to the Director of Public Safety between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, within 10 days of receipt of the citation.

Carpool Program/Alternative Method of Transportation

Employees, who wish to enroll in the Carpool Program/Alternative Method of Transportation (walk, ride bike, take Mass Transit) can obtain information at the Human Resources Office in Muddox Building (Across from McClatchy Park), 3451 Fifth Ave.

Parking Permits

To be eligible for a parking permit, one must be currently employed by or enrolled at the University of the Pacific or Drexel University. Currently, parking permits are free of charge. All permit holders are responsible for any violations regardless of who operates his/her vehicle. The permit is required to be properly displayed.
