Criminal Appellate Advocacy Clinic

GibsonCriminal Appellate Advocacy Clinic students represent indigent defendants in criminal appeals to the Third Appellate District of the California Court of Appeal. They hone their lawyering skills in all aspects of appellate advocacy, with a focus on brief-writing. Students have the benefit of learning from experienced criminal and appellate practitioners as they carry their own caseload.

The Clinic is taught by Jennifer A. Gibson, Supervising Attorney, with assistance from experienced staff attorneys from the Central California Appellate Program.

Jennifer Gibson began her career as a clerk for the Honorable R. Guy Cole of the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Gibson formerly taught as a full-time faculty member in McGeorge's nationally ranked Global Lawyering Skills program. She was also a barrister with the award-winning Anthony M. Kennedy Inn Court of Sacramento. Gibson has an active appellate practice.
