Legislative Process Field Placement

Students will perform on-site legal work as externs under the supervision of field placement supervisors in offices which are involved in legislative process, including working with State senators and representatives, legislative committees, lobbyist’s offices or the legislative office of government agencies. Satisfactory completion of Course 822: Legislative Process, Strategy & Ethics, is a prerequisite for this course, which is offered only in the fall semester, unless waived by the Director of Field Placements. Some Placement site and practice descriptions are set for in Directory of Field Placements in the list below; details for these and other opportunities are through the Field Placement Program Office. The Field Placement Director will help students find an appropriate placement, and must approve each student’s registration. (P/F)
