Sionaidh Douglas-Scott

Anniversary Chair in Law and Co-Director of the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context, Queen Mary University of London


Professor Sionaidh Douglas-Scott is Anniversary Chair in Law at Queen Mary University of London and before that was for many years Professor of European and Human Rights Law at the University of Oxford.

Professor Douglas-Scott is a qualified barrister and member of the English Bar and has also been special legal advisor to the Scottish Parliament on Brexit. She has also been visiting professor at Columbia, Georgetown and SMU Law Schools in the U.S., and at many universities in Europe, including Bonn, EUI Florence, and Helsinki.

She has been co-teaching the McGeorge Salzburg program with U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy since 1993.
