Street Law International Education Project & Course
Professor Fred Galves teaches the Street Law International course at Pacific McGeorge. Law students learn law and advocacy, and then in the "field work" component of the course, teach it to local high school students.
Law students teach two weekly sessions in the high school, are responsible for drafting and grading exams, and coach the high school students in mock trials at the end of the semester. Local judges and attorneys serve as mentors and role models to both the law students and high school students.
The course taught by Professor Galves steps beyond the traditional "Street Law" course taught at many other law schools by adding international subjects and comparisons that globalize the high school curriculum.
