Professor McCaffrey is one of the world's foremost authorities on international water law. He has worked within the United Nations, the U.S. State Department, and represents countries in water disputes before the International Court of Justice and other fora. He current engagements include advising the Palestinians in connection with the Permanent Status talks with Israel and as Legal Adviser to the Nile River Basin Negotiation Committee.
