Marjorie Florestal, Associate Professor of Law

Marjorie Florestal photoProfessor Florestal specializes in trade and development issues in Africa. The positions she has held include Managing Attorney for Africa in the Commercial Law Development Program at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Assistant General Counsel in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and, most recently, Senior Legal Advisor working with the Cape Verde government to prepare that country to join the World Trade Organization (WTO). At the invitation of the State Department, Professor Florestal designed and implemented programs in Nigeria and Ethiopia working with those governments on good governance issues and integrating developing countries into the world trading system.
