Ron Blubaugh, ’75, received a major award on Sept. 16, 2011, at the State Bar of California’s 84th Annual Meeting in Long Beach. A retired state administrative law judge, he received the 2011 President’s Pro Bono Service Award for providing Sacramento-area homeless with free legal services. Blubaugh was one of only five individuals statewide to earn the honor while four law firms were cited.

Carter’s Article Cited In 6th Circuit Decision

A federal appeals court today threw out a death sentence for Marvin Gabrion, who was convicted in the brutal 1997 killing of a woman whose handcuffed and chained body, weighted with cinder blocks, was found in a lake in a national forest. A Western Michigan jury concluded that Gabrion deserved death for his crime: he had killed a woman, along with her infant child, while awaiting trial for raping the mother. The infant’s body was never found.
