Citizenship Fair Serves Sacramento Community
November 07, 2009
Pacific McGeorge School of Law will be hosting a Citizenship Fair November 7th, during which we expect to assist approximately 150-200 would-be citizens to apply for US naturalization.
Citizenship Fairs are a decade-long tradition in Sacramento, and these have been hosted in the past by state officials, the last one having been hosted by Assemblymember Dave Jones. This year, Pacific McGeorge is delighted to be co-sponsoring the event with several state officials, Univision (the major Spanish language TV network); immigrant rights groups, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and Pacific McGeorge and Davis student groups.
In addition, we have partnered with over 25 immigrant rights organizations, mostly in Sacramento and Stockton, as well as with USCIS who has graciously agreed not only to provide materials but to conduct mock interviews. Pacific undergraduate students will teach a class on the new civics examination and/or staff a booth about the census.
