Pacific Hosts Judicial Forum
December 11, 2008
The University of the Pacific hosts a forum on the American justice system at 6 p.m., Thursday, December 11 at Grace Covell Hall on the Stockton campus. The event is free and open to the public.
A distinguished panel, including Justice Ming W. Chin of the California Supreme Court, who chairs the Judicial Council’s Commission for Impartial Courts, retired Judge Roger Warren, and Pacific McGeorge Professor Brian Landsberg, will discuss the importance of fair and impartial courts.
State Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald M. George appointed the Commission for Impartial Courts in 2007 in response to what the judiciary and many in the legal community perceive as a threat to the courts posed by extremists on both sides of the political spectrum.
