Friend or Foe? The Role of Egypt in the Region

Francis Ricciardone, former U.S. ambassador to Egypt, will speak at 5 p.m., Tuesday, November 18 in Classroom G in an appearance sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Northern California, Sacramento Chapter. Ricciardone will discuss Egypt’s leadership role in North Africa and the Middle East. Having served as ambassador to the historic country from 2005-2008, he worked directly with American and Egyptian officials in addressing issues such as the Israeli turnover of Gaza to Palestinian authorities, the conflict in Sudan, and the future stability of Iraq. This event is free and open to the public.
