Clerk of the Supreme Court of the United States Offers Guidance: “Your First Supreme Court Argument”

The Clerk of the United States Supreme Court, William K. Suter, will offer his guidance to the Pacific McGeorge community as part of the campus’ observance of Constitution Day, in an address titled, “Your First Supreme Court Argument.” This free event is sponsored by the law school and the American Constitution Society and will be held on campus in Classroom C at 4pm, Wednesday, September 17th.

Prior to his service as the Supreme Court Clerk, Suter was a career Army Judge Advocate and retired as a Major General. He is the nineteenth Supreme Court Clerk, a position he has held since 1991. Since that time, General Suter has been in a unique position to observe the best appellate lawyers in our nation and he is prepared to offer his guidance and tips for success.

Suter is a frequent lecturer at law schools, bar association meetings and civic functions. He is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was on the Tulane Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He is a graduate of the Judge Advocate General’s School Graduate Course, the Command and General Staff College, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
