Professor Phil Wile has been named Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Mary McGuire has been named Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Wile has been a member of the Pacific McGeorge faculty for 20 years. A Stanford University and Stanford Law School graduate, he has served as director of the law school’s tax programs. Wile fills the position currently occupied by Professor Christine Manolakas, who has served in this “second-in-command” role for three years. A tax law expert herself, she will return full-time to the classroom in the fall.

McGuire, a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and Pacific McGeorge, has served as a student services counselor at the law school since 2005. She previously practiced law for 20 years in the Bay area and Sacramento. McGuire fills the position previously occupied by Carin Crain, who was named to a similar position at the University of Iowa College of Law last year.
