Sprankling Delivers Seminar

Professor John Sprankling conducted a long-distance seminar on “Rethinking Subsurfaace Property Rights” on August 21 as part of the World Resources Institute’s Carbon Capture and Sequestration Regulatory Project
Sprankling delivered his presentation from Pacific McGeorge’s Sacramento campus to an audience of engineers, attorneys and others involved in the CCS program.
Led by Carnegie Mellon University’s Engineering and Public Policy Department, the project seeks to establish a federal regulatory framework to capture and store carbon dioxide in order to help combat global climate change. The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation is a major sponsor of the program. The World Resources Institute is a Washington, D.C.-based environmental think tank whose mission is to find practical ways to protect the earth resources and improve people’s lives.
Professor Sprankling is a noted authority on Property Law who began his legal career with one of the country’s largest property law firms. A former Interim Dean at Pacific McGeorge, he has served as the chair of Property Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools.
