Pacific McGeorge’s California Parole Advocacy Program was honored by the California Public Defenders Association on April 29 at their annual convention in San Francisco.

The parole program, which is run by the law school’s Institute for Administrative Justice under contract with the state Youth and Correctional Agency, received the defenders’ Program of the Year Award. Associate Dean and Special Counsel Glenn Fait, ’71, and program director Mary Swanson, ’94, led a Pacific McGeorge delegation on hand to receive the award. Over the past year, IAJ has trained hundreds of attorneys to represent parolees and established a statewide system of offices to conduct parole revocation hearings.
