Nearly half of Pacific McGeorge graduates who passed the State Bar of California’s July 2006 examination were sworn in to the state and federal bars on December 1 before an overflow crowd of family and friends on in the Lecture Hall.

Ninety new attorneys, out of the law school’s 185 passers statewide, were on hand to raise their right hands and be welcomed into the profession. Judge Frank C. Damrell, Jr., U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, and Presiding Justice Arthur C. Scotland, ’74, administered the oaths of office. Assistant Dean Ruthe Ashley, ’88, a State Bar Board of Governors member, represented that organization. A reception for all followed the ceremony. Many recent graduates who will practice in other parts of the state participated in swearing-in events at other locales.
