McGeorge student Michele Gish participated on a team at the ADC-ICT 2017 Mock Trial in The Hague, Netherlands.  The Association of Defence Counsel practicing before the International Courts and Tribunals and International Criminal Law Bureau organizes a one-week Mock Trial and Training each year. The 2017 Mock Trial and Training was held June 12 to 17 with participants from more than 16 countries.

Michele competed on a team with Maraya Fata and Sean Shun Ming Yau. Maraya is an LL.B student at The Hague University, and is originally from Bulgaria and Zimbabwe. Sean is an LL.M. student at Leiden University, and from Hong Kong. Michele, who will graduate in December 2017, has served as a Legal Intern on the Ayyash Defence Team at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon since January.

The judges of the Mock Trial included: Judge Bakone Justice Moloto, judge at the Mechanism for the International Criminal Courts (MICT); Judge Janet Nosworthy, judge of the Trial Chamber at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon; and Tom Hannis, co-counsel on the Ayyash Defence Team at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
