University of the Pacific, McGeorge Professors Cary Bricker, Lindsey Blanchard and Jeff Proske presented at the University of St. Thomas Holloran Center for Ethical Leadership in the Professions at a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018.

Professors Bricker, Blanchard, and Proske, as well as Associate Dean Michael Colatrella and Professor Dan Croxall have been part of the Holloran Center's ongoing Professional Identity Working Groups Project (the "Working Groups Project") which seeks to encourage law schools to place greater emphasis on professional identity formation at the institutional level and in the classroom.

In preparation for this conference, Professors Bricker and Proske collaborated over the last year with national leaders around the country to develop a cultural competency rubric geared toward helping law schools create institutional and classroom learning outcomes in this important area.  Associate Dean Colatrella, and Professors Blanchard and Croxall worked with another group of national experts on developing a rubric for encouraging teamwork and collaboration in the law school curriculum.

The mission of the Working Groups Project is to create a database of learning outcomes, methods for introducing and assessing the outcomes, and mapping the achievement of the outcomes across the law school curriculum to ensure that these important professional values are incorporated into the law school experience throughout the United States.

The Working Groups Project will continue over the next year, with the McGeorge team committed to seeing it through to completion.
